“SAS” which means “Side, Angle, Side”, is the property of a triangle whose 2 sides and the angle between these sides is given. SAS (side, angle, side) What is SAS in a triangle? If three sides of one triangle are equal to three sides of another triangle, the triangles are congruent. SSS stands for “side, side, side” and means that we have two triangles with all three sides equal. Another shortcut is side-angle-side (SAS), where two pairs of sides and the angle between them are known to be congruent. This congruence shortcut is known as side-side-side (SSS). If all three pairs of corresponding sides are congruent, the triangles are congruent. This is the only postulate that does not deal with angles. SSS Theorem (Side-Side-Side) Perhaps the easiest of the three postulates, Side Side Side Postulate (SSS) says triangles are congruent if three sides of one triangle are congruent to the corresponding sides of the other triangle.
When two triangles are congruent, all three pairs of corresponding sides are congruent and all three pairs of corresponding angles are congruent.
We refer to this as the Side Side Side Postulate or SSS. Side-Side-Side Or, if we can determine that the three sides of one triangle are congruent to three sides of another triangle, then the two triangles are congruent. First such theorem is the side-angle-side (SAS) theorem: If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are equal to two sides and the included angle of another triangle, the triangles are congruent.
